The Why Factor

Growing up in one of Ghana’s disadvantaged regions Sunyani in the Bono region, a smart and talented woman faced many challenges with both parents as farmers, who had little to noeducation. Despite her parents’ pursuits and hard work, she still had no access to scholarship information, youth developmental programs, mentorship opportunities and just a few talent driven activities because of her elementary school experience in one of the best schools in Sunyani.

After her University education, she moved to Accra, the most advantageous region in Ghana.
Then, she came to a realization of how she could have gained some scholarships for her University education, be a part of some youth programs and organizations that are making impactful contributions to society while pursuing education. Though Rosemond Yeboah challenged herself to break the barrier, she still believes that shouldn’t be the norm for any young lady or young person who are faced with financial burdens, who find themselves in less-advantageous circumstances nor have parents who have no education but yet, strive everyday to support their children to attain heights they couldn’t possibly achieve due to circumstantial reasons in Ghana.

Having access to information and knowledge is one of the greatest privileged resources we may look down on but the foundation believes it is the starting point to turning lives around and that’s why and how Rosemond Ama Yeboah (RAY) Foundation was birthed. The foundation is a legacy for every young person who has locked themselves up because of their parent’s educational background, their financial conditions and life’s circumstances. The name and logo of the foundation is a symbolism of hope for the younger generations willing and eager to see themselves make a difference.

The Rosemond Ama Yeboah (RAY) Foundation is working to break the cycle of poverty by focusing on enhancing educational access and quality through scholarships, youth and educational programs and community based programs towards gender equality and inclusion,
